I've been making bean to bar chocolate for many years now and this is a great small refiner that I have used for years.
For continuous production of chocolate, we recommend the Chocolate Maker Upgrade that is including in the Chocolate Refiner and Tilting Chocolate Refiner.
This grinder will refine as little as 0.75 lb to about 7 lbs of warmed chocolate. To refine cocoa nibs to cocoa liquor, heat the bowl and nibs (150 F limit) and add them slowly, handful by handful. Incorporating warm and melted chocolate recipe ingredients slowly helps make this small machine a real workhorse.
The grinder has two 5 pound black granite "stone" rollers that rotate at 100 rpm on a granite slab. This creates tremendous shear and reduces the particles of sugar and cocoa to the smoothness we expect in modern chocolate, somewhere in the 1-30 micron range. Please read the Grinding section about how to use it and it's limitations.

For non-USA addresses, the Refiners are NOT covered under warranty due to the high cost of shipping and support. DOA units are covered, and support is limited to parts and no service unless you pay shipping.
