Self-Care

Self-Care

If you have been browsing the internet at all within the last few years, you have probably seen a lot about “self-love” and “self-care”. It’s the part of a healthy lifestyle that doesn’t focus on outer influences and instead takes a look within.

It has been a little over a year since I implemented a self-care routine into my weekly schedule. I try my best to have it on Sundays as that is the day I like to get myself organized for the week in order to alleviate some of the stress that may arise. But of course, with busy schedules and last minute invites, sometimes my self-care happens on a Wednesday. You’ll thank yourself no matter what day you’re able to fit it in.

My self-care routine usually involves a home cooked meal, a candlelit bath and either cuddling up on the couch with a movie or a book. Yours can look totally different! Maybe you order take out, have some wine and listen to some music. Maybe you do yoga or go to the gym, go out to eat and write in your journal. Whatever your activities might be, it should be something that makes you feel good! Something that makes you feel worthy, at peace, at home. It should be a moment out of your day, or heck a whole day, where you do everything for YOU.

Pictured in this post is a luxurious, soothing and beautifully smelling citrus milk bath. Here’s how to create this sanctuary in your own home.

Fill your bath to the temperature of your liking. While that’s happening, slice a few oranges and prep your eucalyptus. I like to surround my bath with candles and sometime incense. Customize it and make it your own. Add whatever feels right. Add in about a gallon of milk, whatever kind you want. I like to use oat milk as it’s great for your skin. Epsom salt is another great addition to soothe any aches or sores in your body. Then add in the orange slices and eucalyptus and of course, accompany it with our indi chocolate orange soap.

I also enjoy a warm cup of our indi chocolate tea as the weather gets cooler or as an iced tea during the summer.

Reward yourself with routines that help you have relaxing and recharging time.

Wishing you all the best!
